Employee (and directors') Health & Safety policy
We consider the maintenance of a positive health and safety culture to be an important part of the way in which we conduct our business and we acknowledge that, as a business, we have a responsibility to our employees and other staff members, clients and customers, suppliers and other stakeholders in relation to health and safety matters.
Introduction
This policy sets out an overview of Adderley Ltd.’s [the company] arrangements for ensuring we meet our health and safety obligations to our staff and other stakeholders, such as visitors to our premises and those affected by our work. This policy does not form part of any contract of employment and the Company may amend it at any time.
General statement of health and safety policy
Adderfley Ltd considers the maintenance of a positive health and safety culture to be an important part of the way in which we conduct our business and we acknowledge that, as a business, we have a responsibility to our employees and other staff members, clients and customers, suppliers and other stakeholders in relation to health and safety matters.
Responsibility for health and safety
Mark Adderley, Director, has a key role for ensuring the systems and controls we have in place are effective and has overall responsibility for compliance and for overseeing the implementation of this policy.
The key personnel involved in developing and executing our health and safety policy are as follows:

All staff [including contractors] have a role to play in complying with health and safety principles and requirements and share responsibility for achieving safe working conditions. All staff must:
- take care of their own health and safety and that of others;
- observe health and safety rules;
- wear any appropriate personal protective equipment; and
- undertake health and safety training when it is offered.
Staff must report any health and safety concern immediately to Mark Adderley.
Staff must co-operate with management in relation to health and safety matters, including any health and safety reviews and investigations.
The Company takes this policy and its implementation very seriously. Any failure to comply with the terms of this policy may be treated as misconduct and will render an individual liable to disciplinary action.
Information and consultation
The Company will inform and consult with all staff regarding health and safety matters.
Training and supervision
The Company is committed to ensuring all staff members are competent to do their tasks and are provided with adequate training and supervision to enable them to do so.
All staff will receive a health and safety induction and provided with appropriate safety training.
Accidents and first aid
Details of first aid facilities and the names of first aiders are [insert details, eg displayed on the noticeboards and available on the intranet].
All accidents and injuries at work, however minor, should be reported to Mark Adderley, Director and properly recorded in the Company’s accident book which is maintained in the company dropbox, by Mark Adderley.
Fire safety and emergency procedures
All staff should familiarise themselves with the Company’s fire safety and emergency procedures.
Computers and display screen equipment
Staff who use a computer or other display screen equipment as a significant part of their work are entitled to a workstation assessment and regular eyesight tests by an optician at the Company’s expense. Further information may be obtained from Mark Adderley
Reporting concerns
Staff are encouraged to make further suggestions in relation to the Company’s health and safety and working procedures or other initiatives we could undertake. If you have a suggestion, you should contact Mark Adderley
The Company is fully committed to the highest possible standards of openness, honesty and accountability. In line with that commitment, the Company actively encourages any staff member who has serious concerns about health and safety issues, to voice those concerns openly as described above.
Review
The Company is committed to ensuring our policy remains effective. As part of our ongoing commitment, this policy is reviewed by the Board of Directors, at least annually, and any necessary amendments are made to the policy as appropriate.
