Employee (and directors') Development policy
We are committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth. This policy outlines the guidelines for employees and directors to access financial support for their professional development, empowering them to enhance their skills, knowledge, and career opportunities
Each eligible employee and director can claim up to £1,000 per financial year for professional development activities, on a "use it or lose it" basis (i.e. does not roll over to the next financial year).
The funding can be used for a wide range of development activities, including but not limited to:
- Courses and Certifications: Online courses, in-person workshops, professional certifications, and vocational training relevant to your current role or career aspirations.
- Conferences and Seminars: Attendance at conferences, seminars, and summits that provide valuable insights and networking opportunities.
- Books and Resources: Purchase of relevant tbooks, publications, and educational software.
- Professional Memberships: Fees for membership in professional organisations that offer development resources and networking.
Proof of application or completion and original receipts should be retained, for reimbursement purposes. In some cases, direct payment to the provider may be arranged.
Employees or directors are responsible for researching and selecting development activities that are reputable and beneficial, and the approved development activity shoudl eb completed within a reasonable timeframe, and prepared to share their learnings with the organisation, if appropriate.
The organisation may also require individuals to attend developmenet, the funding of which is not covered here.
The employee development policy is fully supported aned agreed by directors.
